:: Blogging ::

  • Technorati
    Blog search engine: “… a real-time search engine that keeps track of what is going on in the blogosphere”

  • WordPress
    “… a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. … WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.” (This is the one I opted for when building this site … Pebble, below, was, on the other hand, a close contender.)

  • Pebble
    “… allows you to add tags to categories, again by specifying a comma separated list of tags when you edit the category. Thereafter, whenever a blog entry is placed into a tagged category, that blog entry also picks up the tags belonging to all of its categories. In effect, this provides a way to bulk tag all blog entries in a particular category. Also, with hierarchical categories, a sub-category will inherit all of the tags from its parents.” (Almost went for this one; but my Tomcat server is already busy with my topic map stuff.)

  • LiveJournal
    “… a simple-to-use (but extremely powerful and customizable) personal publishing (‘blogging’) tool”

  • [I'm tempted to write "et cetera" here ... there are so many blogging platforms, hosts, and tools now available that it would be tedious, and probably pointless, to list them all]
